Active filter carbon with a high performance level – especially after treatment with medications
EHEIM AKTIV is acid washed and activated for automatic water absorption (active surface area 1200 m²/g). Thus, it very quickly binds harmful chemical substances like pesticides, medical treatment residues and other substances and retains them. The water in the aquarium will turn crystal clear. Its use is particularly important after treating the livestock with medications.
EHEIM AKTIV should only be used for a limited amount of time (ca. 4 weeks) and then removed or replaced.
In the filter’s layering set-up EHEIM AKTIV should be used directly after the mechanical (e.g. EHEIM MECH or MECHpro) and the biological filter media (e.g. EHEIM SUBSTRATpro) in the net bag provided.

Adsorptive Filtermedien
Adsorbieren bedeutet anlagern (im Gegensatz zu absorbieren = aufnehmen). Adsorptive Filtermassen sind also Materialien, die dem Wasser schädliche Substanzen entziehen und sie anlagern bzw. binden. Dabei geht es z.B. um Chlor aus dem Leitungswasser, um Reste von Medikamenten oder um Spuren von Reinigungsmitteln, Pestiziden, Farbstoffen usw.
Tipp:
Setzen Sie adsorptive Filtermedien nur wenige Wochen ein. Da die Schadstoffe nur anhaften, können sie sich nach einiger Zeit wieder lösen und ins Wasser zurücktransportiert werden. Zumindest ist ein regelmäßiger Austausch nötig. Normalerweise ist adsorptive Filterung nur in der Einfahrphase des Aquariums oder nach dem Einsatz von Medikamenten nötig.

EHEIM AKTIV ist säuregewaschen und für eine selbsttätige Wasseraufnahme aktiviert (aktive Oberfläche 1200 m²/g). Daher bindet diese Aktivkohle chemische Schadstoffe wie Pestizide, Medikamentenrückstände und andere Substanzen sehr schnell und lagert sie in großen Mengen an. Das Wasser im Aquarium wird kristallklar. Besonders wichtig ist der Einsatz nach einer Behandlung der Aquarienbewohner mit Medikamenten.
EHEIM AKTIV sollte nur über einen beschränkten Zeitraum (ca. 4 Wochen) benutzt und danach entfernt oder ausgetauscht werden.
Im Schichtaufbau des Filters wird EHEIM AKTIV direkt nach der mechanischen Filtermasse (z.B. EHEIM MECH oder MECHpro) und der biologi-schen (z.B. SUBSTRATpro) im mitgelieferten Netzbeutel eingesetzt.
